Golf Trip Awards and Recap Ideas
Give the cup winner a trophy, but leave room for the shots and stories that made the weekend. A few clear awards and a short recap give the crew something worth opening again next year.
The hardware worth handing out
Keep the main awards simple and serious. These are the ones people actually want to win.
- The cup: the overall team or individual winner. Give it a name and a physical trophy.
- MVP: define the criteria before the trip, such as most match points earned, with an agreed tie-breaker. Account for unequal appearances if they are part of your event.
- Low round: best gross and best net round of the week, so the scratch player and the 18 both have a shot at one.
Daily awards keep everyone in it
Hand something out every night so a guy who is out of the cup race still has a reason to grind.
- Daily MVP: best performance of the day, one per day.
- Comeback: biggest swing from behind in a match.
- Closest to the pin and long drive: easy to track and good for a small side pot.
The fun ones
If your crew likes joke awards, keep them good-natured and optional. Pick moments the recipient will enjoy remembering.
- Shot of the trip: the recovery nobody thought was possible.
- Best celebration: the putt and the reaction that followed it.
- Quote of the weekend: the line everyone was still repeating at dinner.
Start a traveling trophy
